Just Decorated the Tree

We just finished decorating the tree today ... its a big one ... about 9'6" tall and smells GREAT! I remembered today (as Lexi and Lauren were hanging 90% of the ornaments on the bottom 30% of the tree) all those tree decorating nights ... Grandpa complaining non-stop about those "damn Pinion Pines ... I hate 'em" and Grandma ignoring his complaints and requiring him to get out the hand auger to drill holes in the "son-of-a-bitchin' " trunk to put a bow where Mother Nature did not think appropriate ... but Mother Hulse had her own ideas and perfection was required. I remember the old reflectors, the multi-colored lights, the lead icicles, the aluminum birds, that giant star with the blinking blue light on the top of the tree, the red cellophane on the spot light ... all great memories and stuff I long for at this time of year. I think we might go over to Grandpa's tomorrow night and send our Christmas lists to Santa up the chimney (since our closed-in gas fireplace just doesn't cut it for such important events). I must admit ... I'm starting to crave pinwheels, lebkuken and cherry-chocolate chip bread ... we have some great traditions to keep and pass on ... I hope you all ENJOY THE HOLIDAYS!

Happy Thanksgiving

We hope you all have (or had, in case you read this late) a great Thanksgiving and spent it with those you love so much and that next year you can spend it with those you didn't get to spend it with this year. My Blessings

I feel my greatest blessings are the posterity we have! Every one is so dear an each one has special gifts that they share with us. From Colton all the way up to the Patriarch that I have the privilege to be companion to. The whole tribe is loaded with talent,charisma,and personality! Not to mention how loving and helpful they all are. To be with you guys is the highlight of our days and we don't care how many times you come to visit, WE LOVE IT! You are never a bpther and we hate to see you go home. If I could have the wish of my heart, we would have a mansion big enough to house us all. ( Something like Pemberly would be nice!) We thank the Lord every day for you all and remember you in our prayers! Love, Grandma Hulse

What Counts as a Blessing?

I am challenging some of the authors to post a blessing that they notice that might otherwise be uncounted. I will even start. Color. Isn't it amazing the beautiful colors we are looking at these days. I think it is even great that we have green for a season, so we don't get tired of the vivid reds, oranges, golds and shades of brown. I have a lovely burning bush with a background of gold and dark green. I love being in my backyard and seeing that bush! Are you glad for the variety of colors around us?
