Christmas Brunch is on!

Alright all you naughty little elves, we will be a gatherin at around 10:00A.M. on Christmas Eve morn and we will have a brunch for the bunch. It may make the time go a little faster for those who are so anxious they can hardly stand it. (Like me) I am making 4 kinds of muffins and fritatas. Bring anything that goes with breakfast.Fruit or juice or bacon. Salsa for the fritatas, butter, milk, cocoa powder.(We have water.) Sausage goes good, too. I don't know if we need biscuits and gravy, but if that is your favorite, let me know. We will have some breakfast cereal for the little kids who wont eat anything else. SEE YOU THERE AND WE DO MEAN YOU. Love, Grandpa and Grandma Hulse

Feedback, please

I am seriously thinking about either having an Open House on the 18th or maybe having a fun brunch on the 24th. Please let me know your feelings. Mystie, I hope that you share this with your sibs and parents. I will call all those that I don't hear from.We sure love getting together with our beloved family anytime, but especially at Christmas.

We were powerless against the force of nature like everyone else, but we did not sustain any appreciable damage, and for that we are most grateful. What was touching to the point of bringing tears was the way in which we were looked after by the angelic members of our ward! First our faithful ward teacher came, then the High Priest group leader came, with a group of helpers to clean up the limbs. We were called by the Relief Society and all our neat family called to see how we were. On Thursday,we were cold as the power was off, so we went in our car to keep warm. When we got hom we built a fire and about 5:00 the power came back on.Today after Sacrament meeting, the angels flew in again to pick up the large stack of limbs in front of our house. There is nothing like these experiences to make one truly grateful for the comforts and necesities of life, and the wonderful people in our ward. Thankfully, our loved ones made it through safely!

Hey, all you Hulse descendants and all those who were fortunate enough to marry one of them(that includes me).We hope you will come on Thanksgiving night for pie and giggling and laughter and snickering and tittering and a few guffaws. We will discuss Christmas then. But, you better watch out, you better not cry. You better not pout I'm tellin you why. The goblins'll get YOU if you don't watch out. Oh, no, wait. That's Halloween. Anyway, you know who IS coming. Love, Grandma

Happy Halloween!

Dear Hulse Clan,

Tonight you are all probably gathering at Grandma and Grandpa's house for a holiday party. I just wanted to tell you all that I miss seeing your faces and talking with you and laughing with you, and maybe sometimes even laughing at you. And sometimes I even miss scratching your scalps.  ;)

Honestly, I do.

I miss the noise and the kids running around and the folding chairs in every room and the joking and the love of big extended family. I miss hearing Grandma tell her spooky poems, the same ones I heard when I was a little girl - especially the one about Little Orphan Annie. I miss hearing about how things are at work and with the kids and with your lives. Facebook and Blogger just aren't the same.

It is hard living so far away sometimes.

I am so grateful to know that we are an eternal family, to know that we will always be connected no matter how far apart we are in this life or the next.

So, my dear cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents, I am wishing you a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Love,

Stephanie

You do know that it is Apple squeezing time. Isn't Autumn great? Check out Pass the Salt (link from my site) for some great new apple recipes!
Stealing this from Lesley's site. What do you love about Fall? I love the crisp air, the crunch of leaves under my feet, the yellow sunflowers and brilliant mums, and ofo course autumn leaves and buring bushees, Hallowen decorations, burning dust as the furnace comes on, canning food, soups, Conference, sleeping with the windows open, apple juice...I will be adding more in the comments. Has anyone heard from Debi or Brian lately? Do they ever look at this blog? (someone should call them and have them look here)
Love you!

What a great Family!

Over 60 years ago, a new family was begun. At first there were just two of us, but we were a family, nevertheless. Then after a couple of years Chuck showed up. In just 18 months we added Steve and almost 4 years later we got our first girl, Rebecca. Then about 20 months later we got our Deborah(Debi). After almost 4 more years we had Jay and after another 27 months we welcomed our Brian. From these humble beginnings, the Hulse family blossomed with 25 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandkids! 53 isn't bad for a start on our future posterity. And they are all woderful and a great blessing to my beloved husband( the Patriarch) and me. Love, Grandma Hulse

All who love their Irish heritage, will gather at Grandpa and Grandma Hulses for a shindig on the 20th of March. Bring food that anyone from giants (quite common in Irish lore) to leprechauns can enjoy. We will have corned beef, so we will need breads and green things and POTATOES (of course).
The time will be at 6:00 so the wee ones can get to bed early before the banshees come out!!!
