Next Saturday is the natal date of a very important person in your life!!! Without this illustrious person, you guys all would't be here! I would not have married anyone else and would have remained a spinster,(although I don't know what I would spin).Anyway, Granpa Hulse, the patriarch of our family will reach the ripe old age of 82 and his son and your brother Steve, will also turn another year older on the same day. So, come one come all and we will have birthday cake and ice cream and wish him many happy returns,(whatever that means). Come at 7:00P.M. We will rejoice as a family that we still haave thesae two marvelous men to honor and revere. Love, M0m.

Every time our family gathers for an event, I try to take a moment to look around in spite of the laughing and teasing and eating, to inhale that special family aura that permeates our humble home. We need new carpets and paint and counter tops, but there is a memory of past gatherings that is imbued in the walls, floors and even overhead, that I am loathe to cover up. Each baby's laugh, each treasured voice, and even the tussles and disagreements are what makes our home a fortress against the powers that would destroy our heaven on earth. Thank you, our beloved posterity for coming to our family. Did we rejoice in the spirit world when we found out that we were all going to be together in this earth life?: I think we did, no, I know we did and we felt blessed by our Father in Heaven for this priceless opportunity. We love each and every one of you more than you will ever know! Love, Grandma and Grandpa Hulse.

Today was my kind of a day. I love the rain and part of my cozy day was spent in watching Pride and Prejudice with my own Mr. D'arcy. In the afternoon I went out and harvested five more of my prolific butternut squash. They just won't quit! I left 4 or 5 that aren't quite ready to pick. If the weather holds off without a hard freeze for a couple of weeks, I'll get some more. There is no better supper than pork chops or small steaks or a ground beef patty with a baked butternut squash with cinnamon sugar and butter! Last night we had Mistique and Scott and Rivers come for a visit to make up for not being able to attend his birthday. He is adorable and has this game where he goes into another room and then runs in and says "SURPRISE"! It is sooo cute. I must say it is a little hard to be surprised after the 13th time.I am determined to blog more often, so look for my news.

Hey, Hulses, large and small, We are planning a breakfast for Labor Day and need your input. We will have some type of bread, like cinnamon rolls or muffins,or sweet breakfast bread (banana, zuccini, etc.) We will have a meat, egg and/or cheese dish and fruit is always good (or juice). It will start at 8:30 or there abouts. It it so fun to get together before the long winter sets in. Then we will not get together until Halloween time. So take time off from your labors and come to Grandpa and Granma's house. We need to know if Saturday or Monday is best for everyone.

It's beginning to look a lot like St. Patrick's Day! We are having a great party on the 17th of March. If there are concrens, then we need to know so we can have as many as possible come and celebrate the Auld Tymes. We will be furnishing the corned beef and cabbage. We are excited to see what everyone else brings that is IRISH. Please, no Irish Setters or Irish Wolfhounds! You con bring ginger beer, but no Irish whiskey. Shleleighs and harps may lighten the mood, but come and be prepared to do an Irish Jig. Love Grandma and Grandpa Hulse. P.S. If this date is not good for some of you, let us know and we will change it.

If you think the weather and gloom is depressing, think of having to be as homebound as Grandpa is. We wold love you and feed you and cater to you if you would come and visit. Steve and Wendy came and visited last night for a few minutes because Steve's drivers licence came here. Still it was fun to have them come. They brought Tyler, who is sporting a nice new pair of spectacles. He looks cute and smart in them and keeps them on! Our home is available for anyone to have a party, even if we are not invited. If anyone would like to watch the Super Bowl here, then COME ON DOWN! (or over or up as the case may be). I am planning to get a lot of snacks with my coupons, so dont be afraid to show up. Love, Grandma

It was a fun season. We got to see so many dear ones and we still have a lot of goodies that somebody better come and eat. I was always taught not to waste food, so if you don't come and have some, grandpa and I will suffer horrendous weight gain.
Our next get together will be for Grandpa's birthday on Thursday. It is also Uncle Steve Hulses birthday, so come one come all for cake and ice cream! Love, Grandma.
