I thought it would be fun to copy Lesley Leger's family spotlight idea. Megan has willingly agreed to be our first spotlight.
Megan Brianne Hulse has a birthday in December. She is the first daughter born to Brian and Kristen Hulse. Her favorite color is yellow. Her favorite subject in school is English. Megan loves going to Boston and it is one of her favorite places to visit. If she could visit somewhere new where she has never gone before, she would want to go to Hawaii. One of her hobbies is playing the violin - she is so talented! She also loves to read. Megan is really friendly and nice to everybody. She has a lot of friends that she hangs out with. They like getting rainbow snows together. When she grows up, Megan wants to be a marine biologist - isn't that so cool? She likes the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. She loves volleyball - maybe we should organize a game for the next family party! Her favorite food is steak. Megan wants a red corvette to be her first car. You go girl! Excellent taste! She knows it probably won't happen, but a girl can dream, right?
Recently, Megan and 3 of her friends and their moms went to Washington D.C. for a history fair competition. Isn't that so awesome? Next time you see her, ask her about it.
One of Megan's favorite memories of Grandma Hulse is making pretend cookies in the kitchen with her. Her best memory of Grandpa is the wheelbarrow he made her for Christmas. She wants all of her uncles and aunts and cousins and family to remember her for being a happy person.
Megan, we are glad you are in our family. You are so happy, and nice, and beautiful. We love being around you. Thanks for being our spotlight!

Wow, that is neat. I learned some new things about Megan. Let me add a memory of Megan. One time when she was visiting our house. I looked up from the north forty and saw Megan, Hayden and Carter chasing what appeared to be an enormous frog jumping in front of them...it was. I was amazed because Megan just loved being with the boys and doing wild outdoor stuff.
Hey! Making pretend cookies was fun for me too! I remember Megan frosting pretend cakes, putting pretend candles on them and lighting them with a pretend lighter!She also used to pretend she was bringing her "boys" to the drive-in for french fries in the little used crumby kiddie bike we had. She also bought her "boys" shoes and took them to the pretend library. What an imagination!She probably WILL have boys! I'm sure she will enjoy her creative writing class in 8th grade. She may end up combining marine biology with writing fantastic stories! Love, Grandma Hulse P.S. I think Steph deserves a big hand for the idea of the year!
I baby sat Megan when she was 6 1/2months old, on my birthday....it was the night O.J. Simpson was escaping in the white bronco. She cried, and cried...so we took a walk to the park...who wants to see TV anyway? And we had a swing till she fell asleep....
